San Francisco Store

Display proudly served as Roark primary retail design and build vendor, offering our team free license with custom pieces. I was given the opportunity to help design their San Francisco store, building off of existing wall and floor fixtures used in their other storefronts.

My goal through the design was to apply Roark's "revivalist" spirit to the styling of the store and the overall customer experience. Inspiration for the store design came from the surrounding environment’s history within the local fishing industry, the brand’s wanderlust appeal, and tagline, “adventure ready goods”. The faux “built-in” library wall in the back features a rolling ladder, and metal workshop cabinets with working beer taps hidden inside. It’s stands as my favorite among the custom pieces I designed for the space, and combines Roark’s modern styling with the old-world charm of San Francisico’s Embarcadero history.
